We started off the morning event with fellowship and a continental breakfast in the dining room accompanied by a slideshow/video of some of the highlights from the past 2015-16 school year. Then our grandparents were shown to the chapel where they received a prayer and an enlivened reading of the Bible story: Blind Bartimaeus, from Mark 10:46-52, from Pastor Parker. Next the children sang for them: Wade in the Water and 10,000 Reasons led by Music Director, Ms. Mary Lee.
A typical Wednesday morning chapel time followed with a student leading the daily meditation and students receiving Good Deeds awards for acts of kindness and service to others in the school. The Grandparents loved this time of the event. But the best was yet to come.. After chapel the grandparents accompanied their grandchildren to their classrooms where they worked on a special project together which they got to take home. We hope each grandparent enjoyed this day as much as we loved having them here!
